Text Messages

Go Birds is a private, invitation-only app for one group of friends who watch Philadelphia Eagles games together. It sends two kinds of text message, and only to a phone number the person entered themselves. We never text a number someone else gave us: invites are sent by the person inviting, from their own phone, not by Go Birds.

1 · Reminders (opt-in, recurring)

After signing in, a member opens their profile, enters their mobile number, and checks the Text me box. The box is unchecked by default, and nothing recurring is sent until it is checked. Next to the box it says:

2 · Halftime update (separate opt-in, one per game)

Below “Text me” on the profile page is a second box, Halftime update, also unchecked by default. Checking it is a separate choice: “Text me” alone never sends a halftime message. Next to it the page says:

3 · Sign-in codes (one-time)

On the sign-in page, a person types their own phone number and taps Send me a code. That number gets one 6-digit code. It does not sign them up for anything else. Under the button it says:

Example messages

  • GoBirds: 🦅 vs Commanders — Sun Sep 27 at 8:20 PM. You haven't RSVP'd. On the table: wings (Sam), dip (Jo). https://…/game/… Reply STOP to opt out.
  • GoBirds: 💬 3 new messages in the watch party chat. https://…/chat Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Go Birds! 🦅 GoBirds halftime: Birds lead Bears 14–10. 🎯 Closest pick so far: Sam (24–17). Reply STOP to opt out. https://gobirds.party
  • 123456 is your GoBirds sign-in code. It expires in 10 minutes.

Frequency, cost, and stopping

Message frequency varies, up to a few texts a week during the football season and none in the off-season. No marketing messages are ever sent. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop, or uncheck Text me in the app. Reply HELP for help. Mobile numbers are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
